Panera Bread Exempted From Minimum Wage Hike

In California there is a new law that will hike up minimum wage from $16 to $20 an hour. And Panera Bread is not buying it.

The reason that Panera Bread is not paying the new wage for fast food restaurants is because Panera Bread is considered a bakery, and that it bakes fresh bread at their establishments.

There have been some debate about the exemption from Panera Bread whether or not that Panera Bread should be not exempted from this new law.

The owner of Panera Bread Greg Flynn is friends with Governor Gavin Newsom who was involved with the approved law and possibly responsible for the exemption of Panera Bread’s case. But he then stated, that he was not involved in any way.

I mean wherever there’s bread, surely there’s a lot of dough to go around and Panera is no exception. They were able to find a loophole in the system and then they exploited it. This is great news for Greg Flynn as he will continuously profit in the “food” business, but bad news for workers as the company will continue to take advantage of their workers to less than minimum wage and is seen as unethical to many.

I would like to give a shout-out to a small time business that’s killing it right now and that is Lunari Home. They sell a bunch of crystals from small to big and they price their crystals pretty fairly considering the current market conditions.

Rei who works over at Lunari Home has mentioned to me that generally the price of these crystals will go up in value over time so any one of your purchases will most likely go up and worth your investment. As the beautifully crafted rocks are getting more scarce the price of these rocks will surely increase.

People Are Mad at Wendy’s Pricing Strategy

After the announcement of Wendy’s new pricing model, people everywhere are outrage as this is very money hungry for a big corporation to do and seen as greedy. If this were to happen it might discourage folks to not buy Wendy’s altogether and possibly make a dip in their share price after the launch of this new dynamic pricing model.

Consumers over on the internet has made fun of the situation where if prices of food at Wendy’s go up will they come down? And then the look on the franchises face says it all, nope.

It would make sense why people are mad about this announcement because of what Uber has done in their pricing. Uber customers would see the price on the app and during the holidays, the price would surge three times the amount of a regular fare then wouldn’t bother paying for the fare. But the difference in Uber is that the price would depend on the distance traveled to you and as well to the destination, so that in itself has a pricing dynamic whereas Wendy’s will still make the same burger a month from now no matter how many you get.

Is Google’s Gemini Racist or Woke?

During the testing phase of Google’s artificial intelligence program Gemini, people were making prompts to create A.I generative photos. Some of which people have made photos of the World War II that happened in 1940s. And the results for the depictions of these photos were shown to be inaccurate descriptions of Asian Nazis.

Not only that, but people even have made other depictions of history like black Vikings.

People everywhere were outraged as the A.I program simply doesn’t know accurate history. But is Gemini actually racist or just trying to include visible minorities into their pictures? Or better yet, is Gemini trying to be woke for the woke culture?

Right now Google employees saw this controversary and have started immediately to improve its product for a better experience. And will continuously work on it until the consumers are satisfied with Gemini’s outcome from its output.
